BURDWAN FOOTBALL FACING LACK IN QUALITY REFEREEING
TNI News Service (TNS)
Webdesk, TNI Burdwan, 27th July, 2015: The Football season started in Burdwan by Subodh cup. This year the enthusiasm is somewhat bigger than the last 5-6 years. This year in Burdwan 9 teams each are participating in Super, First, Second and Third division football. The teams participating in Super Division football in Burdwan are RAUC, Shibaji Sangha, SAI Training Centre, Jatiyo Sangha, Tarun Sangha etc. All of these clubs have built up their strong teams. Apart from these some of the strong teams of the First, Second and Third Division teams are Agradut Sangha, Ratan Smriti Sangha, Netaji Sangha, Baburbagh Boys Association, Bhatchala Kiran Sangha, Dubrajdighi Athiti Sangha etc. Many players playing in these football plays regularly in the junior team of East Bengal, Mohunbagan etc. like Ujjal Hawaladar, Ram Malik etc. One of the main problems Burdwan Football is facing is the quality of Referring. Many wrong decisions are demotivating the players. This problem is crippling the local football here. This has been felt by the District Sports federation also. One of the reasons is because of adopting the profession voluntarily.
